Book Review : Harappa, curse of the blood river.

Harappa, curse of the blood river is a story which moves simultaneously between 1700 BC and 2017 AD.
Its 2017 AD Vidhyut shashtri  running a successful tech start up gets a call in the middle of the night to reach Banaras for his great grandfather is not in good health. Vidhyut has always known the he was special but a whole new secret was waiting to unfold in Banaras that vidhyut had no idea about. In Banaras Vidhyuts great grandfather the matthadesh tries to explain Vidhyut what makes him and his blood line so special. Vidhyut  is having trouble understanding and absorbing all these information about his blood line and curse on the blood line while some people are desperately trying to kill Vidhyut.
1700 BCE Vivasvan Purohit is going to be named as a chief priest of Harappa but gets accused of a murder and put in dungeons. On one hand Harappa is in great danger of enormous flood and on other someone very cunning is planning to take on Harappa by destroying the most powerful person in Harappa Vivasvan Shastri.

I have always been curious about history of Harappa and Mohen jo Daro. The ahead of the time engineering and town planning system has always intrigued me. I always want to know more and more about these civilizations which were of their time. They had an advanced knowledge of engineering, mettalurgy and astronomy. Populated with around 5 million people it was never chaotic such was the town planning system. So that is what I wanted when I picked up this book, to know more, I was expecting a fictional story woven around mind blowing and lesser known  facts about Harappa.

Vineet Bajpaee is an excellent story teller no doubt in that. This book will definitely keep you gripped till the end. I read this book in one go.
But this book is more fiction than facts. Though all the facts related to Harappa are correct but they were very few I was expecting more. The one thing interesting that I came to know about was the life style of the Harappan civilization and how intelligent and visionary the administrators were.
The story goes fast and it never gets boring at any point.

I really liked the book and people reading it would surely enjoy it.

I would give 4 out of 5 stars for excellent story telling.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I would have given a 5 if more facts would have been included!🤓
