MOVIES EVERY FEMINIST SHOULD WATCH.


It is a male dominated world ladies and there is no denying to that. But you can definetly watch these movies where our protagonists’ didnt bow down infront of the rules of the societies and were just badass!
1)     LAJJA.

Vaidehi who just found out that she is pregnant runs from her husband who is abusive to her and has malicious intentions of killing her after vaidehi gives birth to the baby. Along the way she meets 3 beautiful strong women Maitheli, Janki and Ramdulari. Maitheli who is getting married but  her in laws are demanding dowry the  way Maitheli  takes stand for herself infront of hundreds of people, wish more girls had this courage to take stand like this. Then Vaidehi meets Janki an theater actress that to very successful in her state. Janki leaves her to be husband in a heartbeat because he listens to the rumors and starts doubting her loyalty. And then there is Ramdulaari who works as mid wife in small village and does work for women empowerment with little to no resources.
This is one of the most under ratted movies of bollywood. The courage displayed by the women in this movies give will you speechless and the dialogue will give you goosebumps.
5/5 stars for feminism.
2)    LIPSTICK UNDER MY BURKHA.

This movie deals with the very bold topic of understanding  woman’s sexual desire and not being ashamed of it. There are basically four stories of four women. One is about exploring sexual desire, one is about not being able to work because of mans ego, one is about loving a stupid man and the last is about feeling trapped in your own house and parents.
The end of the story is left for the audiences imagination, how they want the story to end.
Modern day story everyone needs to see for once.
3)    QUEEN

Rani is a simple middle class Delhi girl. Her parents find her a groom and she says yes for the arrange marriage. But her husband leaves her just on the day of marriage BECAUSE HE THINKS THAT THEY ARE NOT GOOD MATCH FOR EACH OTHER ANYMORE, she wont be able to adjust with him in America. Heart broken Rani returns to her home and she decides to go on her HONEYMOON ALONE to Paris. Along the journey she finds beautiful friends most of all she finds herself. You go girl you don’t need no man to make you happy.
It also works in the condition of severe break up.

4)    ENGLISH VINGLSH

A simple house wife who has spent all her life looking after her family and raising kids is made fun of time and again for not knowing English. Meanwhile she has to visit USA for attending a wedding, there she secretly joins English speaking class. The movie shows the journey of a middle age shy house wife who has loss all confidence gain all the confidence again just by little things like learning English and making new friends and learning to commute in the big city all alone.  You should watch it because it’s never too late to learn something new. It is never too late to start loving and respecting yourself again!

6 PINK.

“NO MEANS NO”  is this movies dialogue,  you should watch this because of the dialogues of Amitabh Bachchan. This movie is exactly about what every girl who lives in metro really really wants to say. If she goes out for few drink with guys doesn’t mean she wants to sleep with him.
